Big Changes for Pokimane

Twitch streamer Imane Anys aka Pokimane is undoubtedl the most popular female Twitch streamer on the platform. She boosted for over 6.2 million followers on Twitch and over 5.9 million subscribers on YouTube. Pokimane was in the limelight again as she announced a big change happening to her Twitch channel. She worked with the Twitch addon StreamLabs to set a custom cap on her live stream donations. Now on her donation option, every donor will be able to donate a minimum of $2 and a maximum of $5 during her streams.

As she stated in her tweet, she was grateful to her viewers, but she also wants them to support other growing channels and charities. She also thanks those who supported her right from the very start of her streaming career when she was in High School. Some of the viewers didn’t believe that this was a respectable move. It is almost a given that every good action will receive some type of negative backlash on the internet. Pokimane’s announcement was no different, as many put forth their suspicions regarding the move.

Some Twitch streamers, such as the one of the most popular Twitch streamers right now Felix Lengyel aka xQc, had valuable comments on the development of Pokimane. He stated during one of his recent streams that because of this, viewers might criticize other streamers for not doing the same. He said; “Every time one creator does something good, for some reason, everybody, instead of saying ‘oh that’s good’, they say ‘holy shit all the other ones not doing it, they’re bad’ – and that’s a really odd way of thinking”.
