Asmongold Rips Into YouTube’s New Dislike Policy

YouTube recently announced that they will be conducting an experiment where dislikes won’t be shown on a video. However, it seems like other content creators and streamers on the platform don’t really like this idea, already getting heat from YouTubers like Jacksepticeye, AngryJoeShow, Drew Gooden and more.

Also, World of Warcraft streamer and twitch streamer Asmongold have addressed his concerns regarding this during one of his recent live broadcasts. During his World of Warcraft stream, Asmongold was asked by one of his viewers in his chat about his opinion on the latest changes instituted by YouTube with regards to the dislike counter. Asmongold responded and went on a four minute rant about the issue.

Asmongold called the move a tool to promote “bullshit propaganda” and he stated; “Whenever people see the dislike bar people think to themselves I’m not the only crazy one. But if you don’t have that dislike bar, you still have that doubt in your mind that I’m the crazy asshole. That’s why I think they did it. It’s not to protect creators, it’s to protect brands…” With the current change, brands will be able to get away with a lot more, as the public opinion about a thing will only be seen as positive, with there being no metric of comparison in the form of a dislike bar. YouTube is expected to roll out the experimental Dislike changes to more users in the following weeks.
