Asmongold Mocks Decision Of Overwatch

Popular Twitch Streamer Asmongold was recently streaming on Twitch when the news regarding the name change of McCree was announced by Blizzard after a character named by the employee’s name was ousted from the company.

Asmongold has been all over the current drama surrounding Blizzard and he has not been afraid to share his thoughts on anything regarding Blizzard’s shortcomings.

Blizzard recently confirmed that they will be changing the character’s name (McCree) after it was deliberated over the decision and then said the decision will definitely have a knock-on effect for future heroes.

Asmongold was streaming live when the news regarding the name change broke and he naturally commented and chimed in on the issue knowing that he recently said that a name change of the character would be stupid and just a performative act on Blizzard’s end.

He reacted to the recent announcement and said that Blizzard did the wrong thing and that they should’ve never done that and said it was dumb and stupid. He said that it is really a stupid decision to solve another stupid decision and continued by saying that they should have just ignored it knowing that nobody thinks of the character as they think of McCree because when a player saw McCree’s character, they will indeed think of the character but not the person itself because it is already a character in the game that already has a story and that they should have let the issue disconnect itself from the character.

Asmongold also said that he really doesn’t really care to be honest if they change or not the name but thinking and seeing the announcement regarding it makes him cringe. He clearly disagreed with Blizzard’s decision and it was really unnecessary for Blizzard’s end.

Now that the character McCree’s name will be officially changed, many players and users have already begun speculating what his new name will be and many hope that it will be a good one.
